Supporting Widening Access Students

Supporting Widening Access Students

Our Widening Access team has everything you need to find out more about why university could be for you.

We're here to help you access university whatever your background and we work closely with students, parents and teachers to make sure you have all the information you need to make the process simple.

Support we offer includes:

  • Providing information about how students from Widening Access backgrounds can access university, including our Contextual offer
  • In-person and online activities to talk directly to you about the benefits of higher education, applying to university and the support available at Royal Holloway once you get here
  • Free residential visits to give more students the chance to experience life at a university campus
  • Free resources to help you find out more in your own time, or for teachers

We are constantly reviewing our work on Widening Access and are currently developing a new Access and Participation Plan which will help us reach the needs of today's students. You can find out more in the tab below.

Our Access and Participation Plan (APP) sets out our plans for improving equality of opportunity for all students at Royal Holloway.

Read our current APP for 2025/26 - 2028/29 here or a summary here.

Read our APP evaluation report for the 2024-25 academic year.  This records and reflects on activities during 2024/25 (a pilot year) in preparation for our new APP for 2025/26-2028/29. As well as outlining what we did and the impact it had, the report shows how learnings and insights from the year will shape what we do in future.

Please note that undergraduate tuition fees for students from the UK are set by the Government. For the most up to date details please see our undergraduate tuition fees information or a read a summary here.
