The scholarship is offered as a full tuition fee reduction to one full-time student from Iran studying for one of the degrees listed below. One scholarship is available for a new full time Masters student who is an Iranian national with permanent residency in Iran. This fund has been established in recognition of the education, advice and assistance which Katayoon Behboodi received from the Department of Mathematics.
Am I eligible?
You must be a full-time student from Iran who is applying for one of the following degrees.
- MSc Physics by Research
- MSc Information Security
- MSc Electronic Engineering by Research
- MSc Engineering Management
- MSc Computer Science by Research
- MSc Energy Geosciences
- MSc Finance
- MSc Corporate Finance
- MSc Accounting and Financial Management
You are expected to have achieved, or be on target to achieve, a First Class Honours degree or equivalent.
How do I apply?
Applications must be submitted through RH Direct by 11.59pm (UK time) on Monday 11 July 2022. Applicants will be made aware of the outcome of their application after Tuesday 26 July 2022.
Application guidelines
Applications must include the following:
A scholarship statement covering the following points with no more than 400 words per question (please note that statements that exceed the word count will automatically be rejected):
- a brief summary of your background and academic achievements you are particularly proud of
- why have you chosen to do the degree you have applied for
- what your future aspirations are and how the scholarship will help you to achieve your future goals.
Your statement will be judged on how effectively and convincingly you respond to the above.
The following must also be provided:
- We will also ask to see a copy of your Iranian ID (if this has not already been submitted during your application for your degree course).
- As well as your statement, you will need to upload your most recent grades transcript from your undergraduate degree. Any applications that are submitted without an uploaded transcript will be rejected.

- MSc Corporate Finance
- MSc Accounting and Financial Management
and expected to have achieved, or are on target to achieve, a First Class Honours degree or equivalent.
Allocation
Candidates will be selected based on their academic achievement and a scholarship statement. Along with the scholarship statement, applicants will need to upload their most recent grades transcript from their undergraduate degree and a copy of their Iranian ID. The donors may also be involved in the decision-making process for this scholarship.
Payment
The scholarship is offered as a full tuition fee reduction. The actual amount will depend on the fees of the course being studied. The scholarship will only be eligible for one year courses – courses with a year in industry will not be eligible.
Please Note: If the student is eligible for any automatic Royal Holloway tuition fee discounts (including Alumni discount) *, such discounts are not available in conjunction with any scholarship which offers a full tuition fee reduction (including those with an additional cash award) or with CPD courses.
