Below is a list of the scholarships available to students applying for postgraduate degrees at Royal Holloway. Please check the individual scholarships to see if applications have opened for 2021 entry.
If you're applying for a research degree, there are specific scholarships available.
Royal Holloway graduates who apply for a postgraduate course automatically receive a 15% discount on tuition fees for the first year of study. For selected Masters starting in 2021, Royal Holloway alumni can receive a 33% discount if they graduated in 2020 or are due to graduate in 2021 (exemptions apply, please check individual scholarships pages below and scholarships terms and conditions for more information). There is no need to apply.
If you have graduated from another University of London institution you can receive a 10% discount on tuition fees (exemptions apply, see our scholarships terms and conditions).

Tuition fee reduction of £7,000 for Home or International students

American Foundation of RHBNC International Excellence Scholarship
Cash award of £3,000 for students from the United States of America
For US citizens with, or expected to achieve, a First Class degree or equivalent studying any Masters degree. Read more.

£12,000 scholarship for Home or International students
Students applying for MA Medieval Studies with, or expected to achieve, a 2:1 degree or equivalent. Read more.

Full tuition fee reduction and £14,600 research, living and travel costs for UK students
One scholarship available for a Masters student living and educated in the UK studying for a MA History or MA Public History degree, with or expected to achieve, at least a 2:1 degree. Read more.

Up to £10,000 towards tuition fees for UK students
Scholarship for a new full-time or part-time student from the UK, applying for one of the following programmes and expected to have achieved, or be on target to achieve, a 2:1 or higher. Read more.

Tuition fee reduction of £4,000
One scholarship is available for a new full-time postgraduate studying for a MMus in Music, who has achieved, or is on target to achieve, a First Class Honours degree. Read more.

One scholarship is available to a new full-time postgraduate studying MA Holocaust Studies who has achieved, or is expected to achieve, a First Class Honours degree or equivalent. Read more.

Tuition fee reduction of £1,000 for students studying a Masters degree in Mathematics

Up to £12,000 tuition fee reduction for students studying selected Mathematics, Information Security or Computer Science Masters

Sport scholarships
Gold, Silver and Bronze level of awards providing a range of cash awards plus free access to fitness facilities and more
For those of you who excel at sports there are sports scholarships available. Each year we offer a range of sports scholarships to students with varying levels of ability from regional players to Olympic hopefuls. These scholarships provide levels of financial support up to £2,000 as well as a full support package. Read more here
Commonwealth Shared Scholarship (external funding)
Full tuition fee reduction and cash award for one Commonwealth MA Politics of Development student
The Commonwealth Shared Scholarship is available to one student from an eligible Commonwealth country applying to study MA Politics of Development from 2020. The scholarship is jointly funded by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the United Kingdom and the university.

Saïd Foundation Scholarship (external funding)
Full scholarship for postgraduate students from Syria, Jordan, Lebanon or Palestine
The Saïd Foundation offers 30 scholarships to students studying for a one-year postgraduate course at one of its partner universities. Find out more here.
Postgrad Solutions Study Bursary (external funding)
Cash award of £500 available across all subject areas for students from anywhere in the world.

The Geospatial Scholarship Fund (external funding)
£20,000 cash award for Black student studying a Geography or Geoscience Masters
This is an external scholarship for students with Black or mixed Black heritage who also meet one of the following: qualified for free school meals; young carer; looked-after child; household annual income of less than £18,480. Find out more.
