Commonwealth Shared Scholarships

Full scholarship providing tuition fees, living costs and other benefits for postgraduate students from developing Commonwealth countries.

Two scholarships are available for September 2024 entry for new postgraduate students, one each for MSc Global Health: Human Health and the Environment, or MSc Gender Studies. 

These scholarships are a joint initiative between the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK and UK universities, to support students from developing Commonwealth countries who would not otherwise be able to study a Masters course in the UK.

You will need to apply for your course before you can apply for the scholarship, providing a personal statement, academic references, academic transcripts/degree certificate and proof of English language proficiency.

Eligible countries

You must be from one of the following countries to apply: 

Bangladesh, Belize, Botswana, Cameroon, Dominica, Eswatini, Fiji, Gabon, Ghana, Grenada, Guyana, India, Jamaica, Kenya, Kiribati, Lesotho, Malawi, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius, Montserrat, Mozambique,
Namibia, Nauru, Nigeria, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Rwanda, Saint Helena, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and The Grenadines, Samoa, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, The Gambia, Togo, Tonga, Tuvalu, Uganda, Vanuatu, Zambia.
