A key part of your journey here at Royal Holloway is understanding what your values are and in turn, what appeals to you in a potential employer when considering the type of organisation you'd like to work for.

Working for an employer that reflects your values can play a crucial part in your personal happiness and success in the workplace. So, after a three-year break due to the pandemic, the Careers team will be hosting the Diversity Fair on our Egham campus on Wednesday (1 February) between 12-3pm in the Davison Building. The Fair is in collaboration with some of the student societies and collectives who share the goals of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, both at our university and beyond in the workplace and society.

The event is a great opportunity to meet employers and representatives from diversity-focused initiatives, who are working hard towards creating a more diverse and inclusive workplace in areas such as gender, ethnicity, social mobility, mental health, disability and neurodiversity. Many will have live vacancies, and there will be plenty of opportunities for conversations with employers about how you will be supported both in the workplace and throughout the application process.

Whatever stage you're at in your career journey, attending this event can help you to explore how employers are embracing Diversity, Equality and Inclusion and what that could mean for you. It can also enable you to be better informed when exploring your next steps and understand how your career aspirations align with the current job market. You can find out more here.

I look forward to seeing you there!
