Top tips for your visit

Top tips for your visit

Plan your day

If you're coming to an Open Day, take a look at the online guide before you arrive. We update full details of talks and tours ahead of the events, and we'll email you a link too. We'll also send you a link to an Applicant Visit Day guide ahead of the event, if you're booked on to one.

If you're coming to a guided campus tour, you can get a sneak peek of our campus here, or view a map

Attend a wide range of talks

If you're visiting an Open Day or Applicant Visit Day, we have academic department and general talks running all day, giving you information about your chosen course and the support we offer. Talks are repeated morning and afternoon so you’ll be able to attend as many as possible.

Go to the subject zones

At Open Days and Applicant Visit Days you’ll get to talk to a leading academic in your field of interest and ask any questions you may have about your course.

Meet current students

We have plenty of our current students available to chat at all our events. They're the best people to talk to to find out everything you want to know about being a Royal Holloway student. If you're at an on-campus event you'll see them easily in their orange tops. You'll also be able to hear from students at our online events.

Go on a student-led tour

Our student ambassadors will show you around our beautiful campus, so you can see where you may live and what the facilities are like. You can either book on an individual Campus Tour, or go on one during your Open Day or Applicant Visit Day.

Visit accommodation

At Open Days and Applicant Visit Days you’ll get to tour some of our halls and speak to students living on campus to see what options may suit your needs. On Campus Tours, you'll be shown where the accommodation is on campus. To see inside, visit our accommodation pages or virtual experience

Try out interactive sessions

Get involved in any interactive sessions that are offered in specific departments, such as robotics demonstrations and laboratory exercises (available at Open Days and Applicant Visit Days).

Enjoy a break

If you're visiting the Egham campus, take time for a break and have something to eat or drink at one of our cafés. If you're visiting the central London campus, there are plenty of places to relax in the nearby area or in Senate House.

Take notes or pick up any guides

Pick up any handy guides or take notes of anything that you're interested in and explore our website for more information.
