Power and Faith: Crusades and Crusading, 1099-1291

This taster day will be of particular value to students with an interest in crusading history, but will also give a general flavour of studying History at university. The day will feature lectures from academic experts, alongside a campus tour.

We will explore a range of themes and topics, such as:

  • Byzantium and the Crusades
  • The First Crusade
  • The Third Crusade
  • Preaching and Holy War
  • Holy Orders
