Get an introduction on what your education will look like in September. From practicals to fieldwork, we understand how important hands on experience is for our students and we've put measures in place to allow us to deliver this safely.

What is fieldwork like?

Your degree will include an exciting fieldwork offering all over the UK and Europe. Importantly, the cost of all compulsory fieldwork is now INCLUDED in your student fees! Here's a taste of some of these locations in our student-filmed videos:

General Field Skills Guide

Prepare for fieldwork with some open access Geographical Information Systems software by following the handy introduction guide below. This uses an open source software called QGIS, which you can download for free by following this link:

Get a feel for course subjects:

If you find yourself with some time on your hands, and want to get a feel for the subjects you’ll be learning in your first year of your degree you can look through our selection of crib sheets complete with some introductory information, and a short fun practical exercise to ease you into the modules.
