In partnership with @kewgardens, PhD Student Anna Lewis’s research explores how we learn, use and pass on knowledge of hedgerow plants. Recently, Anna's research was featured in an article she wrote for Kew, she explains: 
  
“The piece is about the cultural importance of hedgerows and hedgerow plants and the idea that this plant knowledge is so common that people may not realise that it's valuable. There is still wide hedgerow plant usage going on across the country and my research has recorded more than 100 species which people are using for food, craft, medicine, and fuel. As well as the practical value, these plants offer important connection to place and often hold nostalgic memories of childhood. These common landscape features could be an important tool in encouraging a closer relationship with the natural world around us.”
