Creative writing at Royal Holloway isn’t just a subject you can study – it’s a vibrant, engaged community and the start of an exciting, thought-provoking journey of exploring the world through your writing.
The staff you’ll learn from are a talented mix of published poets, novelists, playwrights, and screenwriters – people who are actively engaged in the world of creative writing and are experienced in developing and sharing their own experiences through writing and publishing. You’ll be both learning from them and working with them – fusing ideas together and benefitting from each other’s passion for creativity. Whether your ambition is to write poetry or plays, short stories, novels, or nonfictional prose, we will guide, encourage and support you in achieving your best.
We offer courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, so no matter where you are in your education journey you can join us and develop your skills as a creative writer. Our undergraduate courses are taught at our beautiful Egham campus with its inspiring architecture and community spirit, and our postgraduate course is taught from central London, right in the heart of literary Bloomsbury close to major publishers and industry links.
