The Centre for Audiovisual Research has small funds to support research connected with audio visual media.
CAVR Funding Schemes
Small Grants Scheme
The Centre is pleased to offer small grants to support research in the field of audiovisual research, broadly defined.
Examples of eligible expenses include, but are not limited to:
- Conference or research trip travel
- Publication/dissemination costs
- Support for the creation of audiovisual materials
- Impact projects/pathways
- Commissioning costs
- Purchase of texts (books, films, primary sources) or technologies
- Conference hosting costs
- Licensing fees
- Digitization costs
Applications may be made by staff or students from any Department at Royal Holloway. Successful applicants will be asked to write a short report about the research that the award supported. This report will be published on the Centre website.
The funds are limited, so applications for costs more than £350 are unlikely to be awarded in full. The committee may offer an award less than the requested amount, especially if there is a significant demand for funding. Applications will be considered by the CAVR steering committee on a rolling basis.
The deadlines for applications are:
27th June, 3rd October, 23rd January, 8th May
To apply, send a statement of application (up to 250 words), along with a provisional budget or outline of costs, to tim.summers@rhul.ac.uk
