Choral Academy: Who's who?

Co-directed by Dr Nathan James Dearden (award-winning choral composer and Lecturer in Music Composition) and Mr Rupert Gough (Director of Choral Music and University Organist), prospective postgraduate students will be able craft a bespoke study plan, under their guidance, and hone skills in advanced choral studies.

Our world-class faculty

Students may also receive tuition and support from several of our specialist faculty members, including Prof. Stephen Rose (historical musicology; specialist in music history of the 16th-18th centuries), Prof. Mary Dullea (Director of Music Performance; focusing on solo performance, vocal coaching and répétiteurship), and Dr Nina Whiteman (Lecturer in Music Composition and vocalist; specialising in interdisciplinary research and innovation in mixed vocalities. Students will of course have access to study with a range of world-class faculty members at the Department of Music, plus our instrumental & vocal tutors who teach at Royal Holloway and some of the UK's leading conservatoires. 

Our creative partners & ambassadors

Students will also have the unique opportunity of collaborating with the Academy creative partners – BBC Singers, Making Music UK, and Wise Music Group (publishing) – and a wide range of our Academy Ambassadors including composers Dame Judith Weir DBE HonFRSE as Honorary Fellow for Royal Holloway & Bedford New College, Gabriel Jackson, Joanna Marsh, plus a wealth of Royal Holloway alumni.
