International Concert Series 2023-24
Nominated as a 2022 Rising Star Artist by Classic FM, Jonathan Leibovitz’s growing profile is already taking him across Europe and beyond as a sought-after recitalist. He combines high technique with a mature musicality, bringing colour, agility and lyricism to the clarinet. We welcome him to Royal Holloway, with pianist Joseph Havlat, for an evening of Weinberg, Brahms, and Poulenc.

About the performers
Clarinettist Jonathan Leibovitz is a2022 prize-winner at the Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT) and Concert Artists Guild (New York) International Auditions held at Wigmore Hall. Jonathan is a winner of 2022 Arthur Waser prize from the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, and Winner of the 2021 Crusell International Clarinet Competition. A former member of the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra, he is considered one of the most promising Clarinetists of his generation. Read more.
Joseph Havlat is a pianist and composer from Hobart, Australia, based in London. Working as a soloist and chamber musician for music very new, very old and some things in between, he has performed in major concert venues around the UK, Europe, America, Japan and Australia. Joseph is a leading interpreter of new music, having collaborated with such composers as Hans Abrahamsen, John Adams, Thomas Adès, Gerald Barry, Brett Dean, Sir Harrison Birtwistle, Michael Finnissy and Thomas Larcher. As a chamber musician he has performed with William Bennett, James Ehnes, Steven Isserlis, Katalin Károlyi and Jack Liebeck, alongside regular duo partners Lotte Betts-Dean, Charlotte Saluste-Bridoux and Tim Posner. He is also a member of the LSO percussion ensemble with whom he has released a CD on the LSO Live label, featuring the premiere recording of John Adams’ two-piano work ‘Roll Over Beethoven’. Car parking
When you arrive for a College event at our Egham campus, please park in car parks 12 or 4.
Car park 12 can be accessed by turning right as you enter the main College gates and is located next to the tennis courts. If this car park is full, please drive further onto our campus to car park 4, which can be accessed by turning left at the mini-roundabout behind the Students’ Union. We would advise that you bring the College map to campus with you and give yourself plenty of time to park.
Blue Badge holders can find designated parking spaces in Car park 1W, as well as between Gardeners Lodge and the Williams Annexe. You can find these locations by looking at our campus map opposite. Please note that we operate an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system on certain parts of our campus, however if you are here for an organised event, parking is unrestricted for event guests in car parks 12, 4 or 14 (or display your blue badge permit if parking in a disabled bay).
