About the performer

Ching Man (Mandy) Liu is an experienced singing teacher with the qualification of Licentiate Diploma (LTCL) based in London and is currently studying in Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, and at the same time the member of The Old Royal Naval College Chapel Choir. Born in Hong Kong, Mandy graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Arts degree (Music major) and obtained her Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Royal Holloway University of London with distinction. During her studies in UK, she was one of the soprano choral scholars of the Choir of Royal Holloway and won the Second prize in the Royal Holloway Concerto Competition.

She has studied in Salzburg, Austria to work with local choirs. The refreshing and inspiring studies reinforced her enthusiasm to become a secondary school music teacher and choral conductor for eight years, after which made her understand music deeper. Music-making creates joy and tears; experiences growth and struggles; witnesses power and beauty of music in humanity. She has joined different choirs and festivals like Europa Cantat and EuroChoir to interact with singers from different cultural background and to learn pedagogical skills from different conductors. The more events she engages in to meet different people, the more she believes the beauty singing could bring to our lives.
