Crossing Borders Series 2021-22

To complete our Crossing Borders Series for 2021-22, we are excited to showcase the transcendental sounds of our Gamelan Ensemble ‘Puloganti’, in a special side-by-side partnership with the young students and players of the Zim marimba ensemble of ACS International School Cobham.

The Gamelan Ensemble ‘Puloganti’, directed by Honorary Lecturer Simon Cook, performs Sundanese music from West Java, Indonesia on the Royal Holloway gamelan degung. This ensemble comprises bronze gongs and metallophones, with drums and flute. The ACS Cobham students perform upbeat traditional music on a magnificent array of huge marimbas from Zimbabwe.

Join us for this 'rush-hour' event to hear music of two contrasting traditions played by these talented students.
