Editing Historical Music for the 21st Century is a series of research training seminars aimed at music postgraduates from all UK universities
Editing Historical Music for the 21st Century is a series of research training seminars aimed at music postgraduates from all UK universities, developing skills in the study and editing of musical sources from the 17th to the 19th centuries.
The first seminar will be held at the British Library and will investigate different categories of musical sources in the collections there, with guest speaker Professor Donald Burrows (Open University) and British Library music curators Loukia Drosopoulou and Chris Scobie.
The seminar series is convened by Stephen Rose (Royal Holloway) and Carrie Churnside (Royal Birmingham Conservatoire) and is generously supported by the New Berlioz Edition Trust.
Participation is free of charge and travel bursaries are available for postgraduate attendees. Spaces are limited. To book a place, postgraduates should contact Adrian So, giving brief details of their university and their topic of study.
Location: Rare Books Seminar Room, The British Library, 96 Euston Road, London, NW1 2DB
