Student Action for Refugees (STAR)

STAR is a national network of student groups dedicated to welcoming refugees to university campuses.

Student Action for Refugees (STAR) looks to support building communities at universities where refugees and people seeking asylum can survive and thrive in the UK.

Since January 2025, we have our own chapter of STAR at Royal Holloway. The society is run with the Royal Holloway Students' Union and is looking to expand. Right now, we are looking for Committee Members and are hoping to support new ideas for events and opportunities. If your research aligns with our vision of bringing about lasting change, we would love to hear your thoughts.

From the 2025-26 academic year, we will be running a number of opportunities with STAR, including an online speaker series, roundtables and quilting bees, plus fundraising for local charity partners.
