At this year’s winter Graduation ceremonies, honorary degrees were awarded to two individuals in recognition of outstanding achievements aligned with Royal Holloway’s visions and values.

Hon Awards 2025 Winter

Peter Hill CB CVO, former COP26 CEO, was awarded an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Literature for his outstanding contribution to public service and his pivotal role in advancing international action on climate change. Read more about Peter.
David Furnish, CEO of Rocket Entertainment Group and Chair of the Elton John AIDS Foundation, was awarded an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Literature for his outstanding contributions to global LGBTQ+ equality and his tireless work in the worldwide fight against HIV/AIDS. Read more about David.
