Talk and drinks reception at Maggs Bros. 48 Bedford Square, London Saturday 20 April 2024, 4pm
Join us for an evening at the site where Bedford College was founded by Elizabeth Jesser Reid in 1849.
From 2.30pm the Bedford Room at 11 Bedford Square will be open for tea and a chat.
At 4pm, we will move over to 48 Bedford Square, where Ed Maggs, of the Antiquarian Booksellers, Maggs Brothers, is kindly hosting talks by Caroline Barron (former member of Bedford College History staff) and Claire Gobbi Daunton (BA History, 1974) on the early days of Bedford College in that building. The talks will be followed by a wine reception kindly provided by Maggs Brothers.
Please note that the talks and reception will be on the first floor and although there is a lift, some half dozen steps are also involved. The event will also be live streamed.
