Each year Royal Holloway bestows honorary awards in recognition of outstanding contributions to the life and work of the university, or to the wider cause of education.
The 2020/21 recipients of these awards are listed below.
Honorary Fellows
Stephen Cox CVO

In recognition of Stephen’s extensive service to the College during the time he spent as Chair of Council from 2011 to 2018.
James Dixon

In recognition of James’s extensive involvement with and contributions to the Department of History, as well as his work to establish the Herringham Scholarships, and his charitable work with the Prisoners’ Education Trust, of which he was Honorary Treasurer.
Vanessa Kingori MBE

In recognition of Vanessa’s achievements in the field of equality and diversity, her excellent contribution to the media industry, and for the inspiration she continues to provide to Royal Holloway’s undergraduates. Read more here.

In recognition of Brian’s extensive contribution to the preservation of Victorian stereoscopic photography and the insight it gives us into Victorian art and culture. Read more here.
Alderman Dr Sir Andrew Parmley

In recognition of Andrew’s significant contribution to music and education in the UK, his ongoing support for the Department of Music, as well as his remarkable civic engagement which culminated in his election as the 689th Lord Mayor of London from 2016 to 2017.
Fiona Wilkinson

In recognition of Fiona’s advocacy for equality and diversity within the profession of accountancy, as well as her enduring commitment to the improvement of auditing and accounting standards as President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Professor Jacqueline Hunter CBE

In recognition of her achievements in her field of science, pharmacology and technology, and as a CEO and an ongoing inspiration to our students.
Amanda Mackenzie OBE
In recognition of her outstanding contribution to marketing and in helping to create better, fairer and more diverse businesses and society.
Dr Ravi Mehrotra CBE

In recognition of his achievements in the shipping industry as Founder and Executive Chairman of Foresight Group Ltd, as well as his philanthropic work and ongoing support of the College.
Denis Pellerin

In recognition of his contribution to our understanding of Victorian art and culture through his research, and in his role as curator of Dr Brian May’s celebrated collection of Victorian stereoscopic photography.
