The Platform Series

From solo performances to University music groups, baroque to contemporary, we are pleased to continue our platform for the community at the Department of Music to share their world-class talents. 

Honouring the band’s recent trip to Newport for the annual UniBrass competition, this concert will feature our contest programme, with pieces inspired by famous paintings from Royal Holloway’s Picture Gallery. The band managed to come 9th out of the 22 competing bands from across the country - keep your eyes peeled for next year! Alongside our UniBrass set, we will be playing some other iconic brass band pieces, including Cats Tales, a notorious three-movement piece based on well-known jazz tunes. We hope you enjoy the show - and we hope to see you there!
