Inaugural Lecture
I give you the end of a golden string; Only wind it into a ball, It will lead you in at Heaven's gate, Built in Jerusalem's wall. - William Blake
Professor Adam Ganz is a screenwriter and theorist of stories and how they are told. He was a Co Investigator and Head of Writer’s Room at StoryFutures Academy and is now Co-Investigator at the CoSTAR National Lab.
Drawing on Historian Carlo Ginzburg’s theory of Venatic Narrative, Adam will talk about how a story is constructed so it becomes a collaboration with audiences so writer and creator and audience tell the story together.
Adam draws on examples of writing for non-actors for a chest of drawers, and for an avatar and how he has created narratives from archives from a sketch and from the found stories in an Essex Village.
Admission is free, but booking is essential.
