Media Arts alumni video profile
Help current Media Arts students by sending us a film of you talking about your career. To make this easy for you, follow the 4 steps below:
1. Decide how you want to film yourself. As a Media Arts graduate, you can make this as professional or as quick and easy as you like. Filming yourself on your phone feels very authentic and works fantastically for us.
Many of you will be experts in this but for those that are out of practice, think about all the things that make a good video. Being able to hear your experiences and advice is key so make sure you are somewhere quiet and won’t be disturbed.
2. We want these videos to be as authentic as possible so don’t worry about pauses and “ums” but you may find it helpful to write out your answer first. Aim to be talking for around 60 seconds, but longer or shorter than this is fine. To help you structure your answer you can focus on the three questions below:
- Start by telling us your name, when you graduated and what you are doing now (e.g. your job title, company name and a couple of sentences on what an average day involves).
- Tell us what you enjoy most about your current role and what the most challenging aspect is.
- Give us your top tip/tips for a student thinking about a career in your sector (three tips would be fantastic).
3. Once you are happy with your answers send your video to alumni@royalholloway.ac.uk. If the file is too big you can use WeTransfer.com to get it to us, again use alumni@royalholloway.ac.uk as the email.
4. Fill out the form below to let us know you are happy for Royal Holloway to use your video to help current students. This could be on campus, on the College website or via any of the Royal Holloway social media accounts.
