We may turn the tap on without thinking, every time we do we are using a resource that cannot be replaced. Water simply gets recycled.

To make sure that we have an ongoing supply of clean water to drink a number of other non-renewable resources are used.  This causes harm to the environment.

This is why it is important to conserve water.  Every cubic meter that we consume adds to our carbon footprint.

What are we doing?

The College's water is metered, so that we can try to reduce our consumption. We have also invested in water saving devices such as pedestal taps and waterless urinals.

What can you do?

  • be water wise; only use the water you require
  • report leaks and dripping taps - email (or call 01784 443063 for emergency maintenance repairs)
  • for more information on water visit Waterwise.
