Emily Wilding Davison Building

The Emily Wilding Davison building is our new library placed at the heart of campus. It is a new central hub area, hosting the Student Service Centre, The Careers Service, exhibition space and more. 

Completed in September 2017, this building demonstrates many sustainable features such as:

  • BREEAM rating - Excellent
  • Combined heating and power
  • Solar panels
  • Advanced building controls

 George Eliot Residences

These are brand new student halls of residence built north of the A30 adjacent to our main campus site. The terrace style houses also demonstrate many sustainable qualities such as:

  • BREEAM rating - Excellent
  • Combined heating and power
  • High standards of insulation
  • Recycling facilities
  • Plenty of cycle store provision

Science Building

Still currently under construction, the new science building will host Royal Holloway's new Electronic Engineering Department. This structure is aiming for a BREEAM rating of Excellent.

Previous Projects

Sutherland House

Implemented solar panels at Sutherland House. 

Sustainable Roofing

At Gowar & Wedderburn we used SEDUM roofing. This insulates and creates a natural environment at the same time.  

Chapel Lighting Project

The lighting in the chapel has been replaced with new energy efficient LED fittings which last for fifteen years.

School of Management - Phase 2 Extension Project

The building has been constructed in an environmentally friendly way and it achieved a Design and Procurement Stage BREEAM Rating of Very Good.  

The School needed to expand its accommodation to extend the facilities available to students. Additions included:

  • 8 seminar/breakout rooms
  • a social space accommodating three flexible work pods
