Environmental Management System

An Environmental Management System (EMS) is a structured framework for managing our significant environmental impacts.  We set out our aspirations in our Environmental Sustainability Policy.  Then we plan how we will achieve our aspirations through our strategy.  We then implement projects, such as Green Impact to try to meet our goals.  Then we review what we have achieved or what needs to be changed so that we can make sure that we continually improve our environmental performance (see our annual Environmental Sustainability Report).

The system helps us to comply with environmental laws and regulations. It also enables us to identify and capitalise on environmental opportunities that go beyond compliance.  If you would like to know more you can read the Sustainability Guide for our Environmental Management System.  Or if you would like to get involved or have any questions, just contact the Sustainability Team.
