International Future Leaders scholarship

There are 30 scholarships available to international students studying any subject. Successful applicants will receive a £6,000 fee reduction in their first year of study.

Am I eligible?

These scholarships are open to new undergraduate students with overseas fee status, with minimum expected or final grades at GCE A-level of ABB or UK and international equivalent.

UK-based International Foundation Year courses are also accepted and a list of eligible courses can be found on this International foundation year equivalent document. Please note that students taking an Integrated Foundation Year will not be eligible for this scholarship.

A strong scholarship statement is required. Successful candidates will demonstrate outstanding leadership skills and these will be assessed via the scholarship statement.

You will also need to hold a current conditional or unconditional offer to study at Royal Holloway before you can apply.

How do I apply?

Applications have now closed. If you've applied for this scholarship, we'll contact you with the outcome after Thursday 19 May, 2022.

You will need to complete a scholarship statement of no more than 400 words (please note that statements that exceed the word count will automatically be rejected), as part of your application which demonstrates outstanding leadership skills. You should also include in your statement: 

  • academic achievements you are particularly proud of and why these really matter to you
  • why you have chosen to do the degree you have applied for
  • how you have demonstrated outstanding leadership skills
  • what your future aspirations are and how the scholarship will help you to achieve your future goals.

Your application will be scored based on your predicted/achieved grades and how effectively your statement answers the above.

Allocation

Students must submit a complete scholarship application form by the deadline, specified annually. The strength of a candidate’s previous academic background will also be considered. This will be assessed via the documents submitted as part of their degree application.

Payment

These scholarships are offered as tuition fee reductions of £6,000 in the first year of study only.
