The Bradley de Glehn Scholarship was established by Mrs Ernest de Glehn in memory of her brother, AC Bradley.
Two scholarships are available for full or part-time postgraduate students with Home or international fee status studying for a taught Masters course within the Department of Philosophy.
The scholarship is offered as a tuition fee reduction of £9,600.
Am I eligible?
You must hold an offer to study one of the following courses:
- MA European Philosophy
- MA Political Philosophy
- MA Modern Philosophy
How do I apply?
You must apply via our online system Royal Holloway Direct, where you will be able to complete your statement and upload any required documents including your grades transcript.
The deadline for applications is 1 July 2021.
You must provide a supporting statement of no more than 400 words outlining why you should receive the scholarship. You should include:
- Academic achievements you are particularly proud of and why these really matter to you
- Why you have chosen to do the degree you have applied for
- What your future aspirations are and how the scholarship will help you to achieve your future goals
Your statement will be judged on how effectively and convincingly you respond to the above.
You must also provide one academic reference (up to 200 words) and your undergraduate degree transcript.
Terms and conditions
For Home fee students, the scholarship provides a full tuition fee reduction. Home fee students will not be eligible for any other tuition fee discount, for example the alumni discount. The above also applies to International fee students who qualify for the EU fee reduction scholarship.
For International fee students, the scholarship provides a £9,600 reduction on your tuition fees. Other tuition fee discounts, such as the alumni discount, will apply (if eligible), with the discount applied after the scholarship.
