Campus tours

Ambassador guiding tour 528x270

If you're thinking about studying at Royal Holloway as an undergraduate or postgraduate and you're unable to attend one of our Open Days, you may like to take a tour around our campus instead.

Campus tours are not department specific so if you would like to meet academics from your chosen department we recommend attending an  Open Day. If you receive an offer to study at Royal Holloway, you'll be invited to attend an  Applicant Visit Day, which provides another opportunity to visit our campus and meet staff and students.

If you intend to get here by car or motorbike you need to provide your vehicle details in our booking forms.

Choose from between two types of tour:

Book a guided tour

Eventbrite - Royal Holloway Campus Tours: December  Eventbrite - Royal Holloway Campus Tours: January  Eventbrite - Royal Holloway Campus Tours: February

Available Wednesdays at 2pm. Duration is approximately one hour.

What to expect from your guided tour

A Student Ambassador will show you as many of our facilities as possible, including our Halls of Residence*, libraries and social spaces as well as share their own experience of studying at Royal Holloway. They will be waiting to greet you by the Founder's Building clock tower to begin the tour.

You can bring as many guests as you like and will only need one booking for yourself and your guests.

Bookings for guided campus tours close at 3pm the previous day, but you can email  campus-tours@royalholloway.ac.uk or call 01784 414112 if you wish to book a last-minute place. If you're unable to attend on a Wednesday, we will attempt to arrange a guided campus tour on a date that is convenient for you.

*Please note it isn't always possible to take tour groups inside  student accommodation due to availability, although we will do our best to arrange this.

Book a self-led tour

Independently explore the campus using one of our suggested routes, however, if you can make it to one of our guided tours we suggest booking one of these. Book your place here.

Our self-led tours are available everyday from 9am to 5pm and the duration depends on your selected route.

Information about your self-led tour

If you're taking a self-led tour you won't be able to look inside our student accommodation, but you can view images on our  accommodation web pages.

Booking a self-led tour is required so that:

  • we can provide you with all the relevant information

  • let you know if any other events are taking place

  • we know which guests to expect on campus

  • the correct materials are ready for your arrival

Your self-led guide and welcome pack must be collected from the Student Services Centre in the Emily Wilding Davison Building (Monday- Friday) or the library help desk in the Emily Wilding Davison Building (weekends).

Meet our Admissions team

We hold drop-in sessions which provide you with the chance to meet individually with a member of our Admissions team and ask any questions you may have about submitting an application to Royal Holloway. You do not need to book a space, simply drop in to the Student Services Centre in the Emily Wilding Davison Building between 11am - 1pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday or between 1 - 5pm on Wednesday.

If you plan to drive, our booking form will ask for your vehicle details, but if you decide to drive after you've booked, please fill in this form.

Any questions?

Please email us on campus-tours@royalholloway.ac.uk, or call us on 01784 414112 to make a last minute booking, rearrange your visit or let us know if you're late.
