Why choose us for postgraduate study?

There are many reasons to choose Royal Holloway for postgraduate study. Here are just a few highlights.

World-leading research

At Royal Holloway you will be studying at one of the UK's leading research-intensive universities. You will work alongside academic staff, who are at the frontiers of their subject and produce original research of national and international importance.

In 2014's Research Excellence Framework (REF) we were ranked in the top 25% of universities in the UK for research rated 'world-leading' or 'internationally excellent'. Watch the video below to discover some of the research our academics are pursuing.

Quality teaching

Our postgraduate students learn from teachers who are leaders in their field. You will be able to share in their  knowledge and enthusiasm while you develop your understanding of your chosen subject.

Watch our Talking Teaching videos to find out how cutting-edge research underpins teaching at Royal Holloway.

Inspiring study environment

Our beautiful 135-acre parkland campus and high quality facilities will inspire you to succeed. We continue to invest in our historic campus, with our state-of-the art new Library and Student Services Centre, The Emily Wilding Davison Building, which was officially opened by Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal in October 2017. Within this new library you can find an area exclusively dedicated to postgraduate research students.

Our postgraduates also have access to our London base in Bedford Square.

Global collaborations

We have developed and sustained strong links with governments, industries and commerce companies across the world, giving you the chance to widen your horizons and benefit from global experts during your time with us and beyond.
