The application process for university can seem a little daunting at first but help is on hand to guide your son or daughter through the process. Students do not apply directly to a university, but online via the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS).
- Students can apply to up to five institutions and must complete an application form, including their personal statement, on the UCAS website
- Each university applied for will consider the application and inform UCAS of the decision. UCAS will then inform the student of the outcome, which will often be accompanied by an offer letter
- Students can check the progress of their application at any time via UCAS using Track - and they also use this to respond to their offers, choosing to accept a place, select it as their insurance choice or reject it
- If they apply to Royal Holloway and are offered a place they will be invited to one of our Applicant Visit Days, which are held between December and March. They will have the chance to spend time in their academic department, meet current students and tour the campus.
