Throughout November 2013, over 250 Key Stage 3 students attended launch trips at Royal Holloway, in partnership with the Brilliant Club. The Brilliant Club is an award winning non-profit organisation that exists to widen access to top universities for outstanding pupils from non-selective state schools, by giving gifted and talented learners the chance to attend university style tutorials taken by PhD tutors. The programme aims to give these students the knowledge, skills and ambition to secure places at top universities, such as Royal Holloway.
To start their programme with the Brilliant Club, learners visited Royal Holloway, and were given study skills sessions, the chance to meet their PhD tutors, and took part in exciting activities led by our Royal Holloway Student Ambassadors.
Rebecca Schrod, Outreach Officer said, “the students who attended our Brilliant Club launch trips truly made them great. Their enthusiasm and excellent work throughout the day showed that they are all capable of studying at top universities, and we are proud to help give them the skills and confidence to do so. We would like to wish them the best of luck on their Brilliant Club programme.”
