Pupil Conference

Posted on 13/01/2014

Investigating virtual worlds was the object of our November Pupil Conference, where local year 9 school students were invited to explore alien landscapes by the Geography department and how to design sounds for science fiction films by the Media Arts department. Visitors were posed the questions: What sound does the moon make? and How do we construct unfamiliar landscapes for films using locations on earth?

The students were also treated to our popular campus scavenger hunt and given an introduction session on courses to study at university. One of the visiting teachers said "It was really lovely to see the pupils so engaged and involved. They all thoroughly enjoyed the day and have told me they all want to go to university now!"

Our next pupil conference will be held on 2 April 2014. To book a place, please complete our enquiry form.
