Safety in the local area

Question:
Safety in the local area
Answer:

Obviously, safety is a major factor when considering housing in the private sector. Generally, Egham and Englefield Green are safe areas and the vast majority of students will fortunately spend their time in this area without incident. According to Surrey Police, Egham and Englefield Green have an average crime rate compared to national crime rates.

Living safely is often a case of taking reasonable precautions and safety measures. Please visit this page to find out the best ways you can minimise risks and live safely. Students who are particularly worried about the safety of a particular property itself should consider houses which are either Runnymede Borough Accredited (please see here for further information on accreditation) or have a HMO licence, as these properties have been inspected by the Council and certified to national standards.
