Location - which residential areas are closest to the university?

Question:
Location - which residential areas are closest to the university?
Answer:

The majority of Royal Holloway students who rent accommodation in the private sector live within a 1.5 mile radius of the main campus, in Egham and Englefield Green.

Houses in Egham are usually situated between the University itself, Egham railway station and Egham’s shops. Englefield Green is situated next to the main campus at the top of Egham Hill, and most houses in this area are about a 10–15 minute walk from campus and a 30–35 minute walk from the station. The village itself is serviced by two bus routes which go through Staines and Windsor.

There is also private sector accommodation available in Virginia Water, Old Windsor, Pooley Green, Staines, Ashford and Sunningdale though adverts for these areas on HouseSearch are not so numerous. There are bus and train services which run through these areas to Egham, however, we would advise you do your own research if choosing to live further than reasonable walking distance in order to ensure that you will be able to make it to campus with relative ease, as well as factoring travel costs into your budget.
