Advertising an unwanted private sector room - can the university help me?

Question:
Advertising an unwanted private sector room - can the university help me?
Answer:

The Student Accommodation Office’s private sector website advertising function is primarily designed for the use of landlords; however, there is a student-to-student Message Board available on HouseSearch. This is available for students wishing to advertise vacancies in their shared houses, or to advertise a room that they wish to move out of. You will need to create a student account on the site before you are able to access the Message Boards.

Please be aware that you will need to have obtained the permission of your landlord to assign your contract to another tenant if you are looking for someone else to take your place. Please also be aware that you are committed to the contract that you have signed and the rent for the property unless the landlord releases you from your contract.

Please contact Student Accommodation if you require further information.
