Applying online is quick and easy, whichever stage of study you’re at. Find out below how you can apply to live in one of our on-campus halls of residence.
Accommodation guarantee 2024/25
We guarantee you an offer of accommodation in either University-owned Halls of Residence or a nominated partner accommodation provider if you are a:
- New undergraduate student
- International Postgraduate taught student*
To meet the guarantee, you’ll need have confirmed your offer to study with us and apply for accommodation by 10am on Monday 1 July.
If you don't qualify for the accommodation guarantee, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible. Applications will be processed on a first come, first served basis and any offer of accommodation is subject to availability.
*Does not include couples and family accommodation or Intercollegiate accommodation
How to apply if you're a....
Undergraduate student (including Integrated Foundation Year)
Once you've made Royal Holloway your firm choice, you'll be able to register for an account on the Online Accommodation System. Please note, it can take up to 48 hours after you’ve accepted your offer before you can register.
Our application window runs from 10 June (10am) to 1 July (10am) when you’ll be able to select the exact room you want to live in. You’ll be able to use our handy filters to search for types of room you’d be happiest in.
To confirm your room you’ll need to accept a contract and pay a £300 prepayment* to secure it.
If you don’t want to choose a specific room, or you apply outside the accommodation window then you’ll still be able to make a preference for your favourite hall of residence.
All first year undergraduates are guaranteed an offer of a room if you apply by our deadline of 1 July.

International Postgraduate taught student
Once you've made Royal Holloway your firm choice, you'll be able to register for an account on the Online Accommodation System. Please note, it can take up to 48 hours after you’ve accepted your offer before you can register.
Our application window runs from 25 March (10am) until 1 July (10am) when you’ll be able to select the exact room you want to live in. You’ll be able to use our handy filters to search for types of room you’d be happiest in.
To confirm your room you’ll need to accept a contract and pay a £300 prepayment* to secure it.
If you don’t want to choose a specific room, or you apply outside the accommodation window then you will still be able to make a preference for your favourite hall of residence.
All international taught postgraduate students are guaranteed an offer of a room if you apply by our deadline of 1 July.

Home (UK) postgraduate taught student or postgraduate research student

International Foundation Year student
This information is for students studying with the Royal Holloway International Study Centre on an International Foundation Year or International Year One programme.
