If you’re staying on campus or within the local area over the Christmas break, we've created a list of all the services that will still be open and the hours they will be operating.
Student Services Centre:
The Student Services Centre Christmas opening hours are listed on their webpages.
Royal Holloway Sport:
Royal Holloway Sport will be operating the following out of term opening hours:
- Monday - Friday: 7am-9pm
- Saturday: 9am-6pm
- Sunday: 10am-6pm
They will be open on the following days; 23, 27, 28, 29, 30 December from 9am-4.30pm.
They will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Eve and New Years Day.
Library:
The Library will be open until 9pm on Thursday 21 December and will reopen at 9am on Tuesday 2 January.
Whilst the Library within the Davison Building is closed, study space will be available in the George Eliot Centre between 8am and 10pm, 7 days a week.
Careers and Employability Service:
From Monday, 11 December - Thursday, 21 December, the service will be open from Monday to Friday 10am-5.30pm.
From Friday 22 December - Monday 1 January 2018, the Davison Building will be closed to the public.
From Tuesday 2 January - Friday 5 January, the service will reopen Monday to Friday from 10am-5.30pm.
The Students' Union
The Packhorse is going to be open throughout the break, only closing on Christmas Day to fuel all of your festive needs. For more information on the SU's outlet opening times, visit here.
Food outlets across campus:
Details of the timings the food outlets will be open can be found on their webpage.
- Crosslands:
Closed from Friday 22 December until Tuesday 2 January.
- Cafe on the Square:
Closed from Friday 22 December until Tuesday 2 January.
- Imagine:
Closed from Monday 15 December until Monday 15 January.
- Boilerhouse Cafe:
Closed from Friday 22 December until Tuesday 2 January.
- KW's:
Open daily for brunch and dinner apart from 24 and 31 December when KW’s will be open for brunch only. Closed on 25 and 26 December and 1 January.
Kingswood Christmas bus timetable
Between Monday 11 December and Friday 5 January the Monday to Friday service will a reduced ‘weekend’ service, except the 25 & 26 December 2017 and 1 January 2018 when there will be no bus service.
Monday 8 January 2018, the Monday to Friday service resumes.
Post rooms
George Eliot and The Hub post rooms will both be closed from Friday 23 December until Monday 1 January inclusive.

Open Friday 22 December until Monday 1 January daily from 7am-8pm.
- The Hub:
Open Friday 22 December 7am-2.30pm. Closed from 23 December to 1 January inclusive.
- George Eliot:
Open on Thursday 22 December from 8am-4pm, on Friday 23 December until Monday 1 January daily from 10am-6pm (closed on 25 December), and Tuesday 2 – Friday 5 January 8am-8pm.
- Founders:
Closed from Thursday 21 December – Saturday 6 January inclusive.
- Visitor Information Centre (Halls reception):
Closed from Thursday 21 December to Sunday 7 January inclusive.
- The Hub (a place to stay) reservations:
Closed from Thursday 21 December to Monday 1 January inclusive
