Feb 22 2018

Following a break in 2017 our Play! Festival, delivered by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, will be returning from Tuesday 29 May - Saturday 2 June. Play! is our annual festival of culture showcasing music, theatre, creative writing, film, art and more created and performed by our students and staff.

This year's Play! Festival is part of Suffrage in Egham, with “The Arts of Democracy” as a theme, encouraging you to think creatively about how the arts and democracy intersect. The panel will particularly welcome events produced with this theme in mind and inter-disciplinary proposals involving students from different departments working together. Applications should show how receiving funding would significantly develop or enhance the performance or event.

Financial grants of up to £150 are available to student groups or staff to support the development of new work for the 2018 Play! Festival. Funding can be used for arts events or performances between 15 and 30 minutes.

Applications for funding for the Play! Festival are now open, please submit an application form by 12pm on Wednesday 28 February 2018. Proposals will be considered by a panel and successful bids will receive a grant of up to £150 towards the costs of creating and staging the work. Applicants will be notified of the outcome in the week beginning 12 March 2018.
