Many congratulations to second year Media Arts student, Jack Wallis also won gold in the TUCO Competition in the Bar Skills category. Jack had five minutes to produce and serve three original cocktails, while demonstrating excellent flavour, knowledge and technique. As a Media Arts student, Jack’s cocktails were all inspired by films that have previously been filmed at Royal Holloway.
Judges quote: “we want to see an excellent looking cocktail, in terms of the final piece and the garnish. We also want to see how the drink is presented to us in terms of customer service and how they care about it. And finally, the aroma. We want some interesting choices with the spirits and liquors to deliver those things. Jack commented: “It was an amazing experience and even more amazing to win. I’m a bit speechless. The pressure was on and it was really exciting to be part of it. This is nothing like any other event.”
