Interested in studying abroad? If you are a first year, second year or PhD student, did you know that you can study either for a year or a summer at a partner university?

There are numerous advantages to studying abroad and to give you an idea of these, here are just a few quotes from students who were abroad last year:

  • ‘What’s the best way to explain 369 days of a life changing experience?’
  • ‘It has taught me a lot about myself and fortified my independence and confidence’
  • ‘The chance to experience a different culture, learn another language and make friends with people you would not have met otherwise'

Studying abroad is a great opportunity to develop new skills and experience student life in a different environment. A period of study outside the UK will provide you with the opportunity to:

  • enhance your overall knowledge and understanding of your subject
  • develop your intercultural skills
  • widen your network of friends and future contacts
  • increase your independence and self confidence.

You can apply for an exchange place at one of our partners and, if you would like to find out more, come along to the Study Abroad Fair on Wednesday 26 October from 6 – 8 pm in the Windsor Building. You will be able to meet students who have returned from an exchange and ask them about their experiences and how you might also benefit.
