Alice Reynolds - Geography

Degree programme: GeographyAlice Reynolds

Year of study: Third

Why did you choose to study at Royal Holloway?

I loved the welcoming feel of the university when I attended an Applicant Visit Day, particularly within my department, and felt instantly at home here. I knew I wanted to attend a campus university, and I loved that everything is within walking distance. As one of the UK’s top ten geography departments, I knew I would be getting a high class of education. Of course, the breathtaking Founder's building was a bonus too!

What do you enjoy most about Geography?

I love the diversity of my subject – you can really specialise in whatever interests you the most. You aren’t forced to continue with a subject you don’t enjoy, and I have learnt that geography is so much more than I first thought! The Geography department also offers a number of work placements, and I was lucky enough to be chosen to participate in one of these last summer. The Geography department is like one big family, and the field trips are a bonus too. GeogSoc is also notoriously the best and biggest society on campus!
