Volunteering

Whether you want to teach English to refugees, mentor local school kids or volunteer for Samaritans, we offer lots of volunteering opportunities.

Why volunteer?

Volunteering can be hugely fulfilling – giving you the chance to gain new skills, build your confidence and CV, and give back to the local community.

Watch this video about why Royal Holloway students volunteer and what they feel they’ve gained from the experience.

Get recognised

We'll recognise your volunteering through our formal accreditation scheme Get Recognised and the RHUL Passport which rewards student’s contributions to Royal Holloway and the wider community. This will look great on your CV. You may also pick up a special prize or award.

Once a year we join forces with Voluntary Support North Surrey and Runnymede Borough Council to host the Runnymede Volunteer Awards, handing out lots of different awards.

You can also gain accreditation for your volunteering through the Duke of Edinburgh Award and national Vinspired Award.
