On Monday 1 August, the first books were moved into the new Library in the Emily Wilding Davison Building and placed onto the shelves.
David Morgan, our Collections Project Coordinator, has worked extremely hard on the book migration process, and was lucky enough to position the first books onto their new home.
The first book to be placed onto the shelf was ‘Royal Opera House Retrospective 1732-1982’, along with a handful of other works, that form part of a donation from Roy Waters, of approximately 2,500 items. The collection mostly consists of music and drama, and were previously stored in the Depository. However, these will now be directly accessible on the shelves of the new Library.
All books that have been moved into the Davison Building will be available via the fetch service.
You can find out more information on the Library move and the fetch service on our Library webpages.
