Dreaming of a wedding in the Chapel?
The Chaplaincy and Governing Body of Royal Holloway, University of London are delighted to inform current staff, and children of current long-standing staff of Royal Holloway of the opportunity to get married in the beautiful Chapel, located in the Founder’s Building.
In getting married in the Chapel you are saying that you wish God to be involved in your married life together. The Chapel can be used for Church of England, Roman Catholic and Non-Conformist (like Methodist or URC) weddings.
For current staff the Anglican and Roman Catholic College Chaplains may be available to officiate if requested. Couples from other backgrounds and traditions would need to bring their own officiating minister. Alumni should in any case provide their own minister. Please contact the Weddings Coordinator for further clarification.
We are delighted to receive enquiries from those who are considering a Christian wedding in our beautiful chapel and we will endeavour to place your special day into the ongoing life of college and our chapel community.
Weddings dates are released four times per year with the available dates being twelve - fourteen months in advance. This ensures that the Chaplaincy office have a full schedule of College events and projects, and reflects the fact that we are a University Chaplaincy rather than a parish or commercial venue. The Chapel is a historic building and as such may occasionally be in need of maintenance and repairs at short notice, and College demands can be unpredictable.
The hire of the Chapel for a wedding should not interfere with normal College life, and as such there are certain times when this service is not normally offered, e.g. weekdays, during graduation, open days or examinations. Our commitment is to offer up to twelve Saturdays per year, to provide a maximum of twenty weddings per year with ceremonies at 12pm and 3pm.
Please be aware that it can take up to three months to complete the legal preliminaries, and that the Weddings Coordinator is not available outside term-time.
We have the following dates available for weddings in 2018-19:
Saturday 12 May 2018 at 12pm and 3pm
