The new sports kit design
Active Lifestyle and Sport at Royal Holloway have agreed a new partnership with Samurai Sportswear on a provisional three-year deal. This venture will provide a new range of teamwear, leisurewear and training garments ready for students and staff to purchase from September 2015.
Samurai Sportswear is focused on providing elite performance teamwear manufactured using its advanced PerformeX™ moisture management fabric. This fabric entitles athletes to a full range of body movement whilst still being able to provide comfort and durability throughout.
We currently offer more than 30 competitive sports ranging from traditional sports such as rugby to others more contemporary such as Ultimate Frisbee. With this new arrangement, we believe we will still continue to challenge convention and break new ground, whilst still incorporating areas of our prestigious history.
As standard, the lead times on Samurai Sportswear products that are made to order take eight weeks, but with almost 20 years’ experience, the company has established itself as a provider of quality custom-made sportswear. Fusing Royal Holloway’s sporting colours of green, white and purple with the repertoire of designs Samurai have to offer; they will create a group of products that are not only captivating on the eye, but also offer superior performance.
When speaking about the partnership, Samurai Sports Sale Director Mike Humble was delighted with the decision stating; “I am truly excited that Royal Holloway has decided to become part of the Samurai Family. Together both parties will now be able to generate a coherent plan; focusing on adding a modern edge to their traditional teamwear. I believe this opportunity, alongside Samurai Sportswear’s reputation in being able to provide a value-added service, with greater flexibility, is what made us stand out from the competition.”
Natalie Dobson, Assistant Head of Active Lifestyle & Sport said “I am excited to develop this partnership with Samurai, their range of fabrics and designs means they can cater for almost all of our sports clubs. This, alongside a rebrand for sport, will see a strong identity for Royal Holloway sport moving forward.”
