More in this section About Us

We know an Active lifestyle & sport is an integral part of people’s lives. That’s why we encourage staff, students and the surrounding community to get involved with Sport at Royal Holloway.

We're recognised as one of the University of London’s best sporting colleges. Our sports programme ranges from supporting world-class athletes, performance & competitive sport and recreational sport. We have 80 sports teams with more than 1,300 members competing in BUCS and LUSL competitions.

Over 3500 students engage with sport whether through membership at our gym or by attending sessions, which are classes such as table tennis, zumba, basketball and badminton.

You can also enjoy high quality facilities both on- and off-campus, in which we continually invest. In 2013, we refurbished our campus-based Sports Centre to increase the number of classes we deliver. In 2014 we installed a new third generation (3G) rugby and football pitch to provide a first-class playing surface alongside a sand based Hockey astroturf pitch and refurbished squash courts with more developments coming in 2016

We also support elite sportsmen and women through our Sports Scholars programme.

Whether you consider yourself a pro or want to try something new, there are teams and clubs to cater for your needs.
