Rita Dada

I chose to undertake my Masters in Social Work at Royal Holloway because of the very high reputation it holds in this field of study; it's among one of the top universities responsible for producing highly skilled and fantastic social workers in the UK.

My time at Royal Holloway was an extremely memorable part of my life. As a mature student, busy wife, mother of four young children and also with a part-time job, I was very nervous about getting back into the classroom - my first degree was about 15 years before.

However, I was totally blown away by the amazing support and encouragement the staff and lecturers gave me and my colleagues throughout my time there. They made us feel very able and relaxed at all times.

I took on board all their advice and ran with the tips they provided and now I am currently working as a qualified Social Worker with the safe guarding and care planning team in one of London 's biggest boroughs.

I am currently undertaking a post-qualification award in working with children and families. And guess where? Back at Royal Holloway.

My employer has a strong affiliation with Royal Holloway because of its fantastic reputation. So once again, I am proud to be back at my alma mater.

For those of you out there who are looking to take up a career in Social Work, I would say go for it. It is a noble and rewarding career and as long as you look in the right places, you will never be short of a job.
