Secondary schools (key stage 4/5) and members of the public are invited to attend Rare Disease Day 2013 at Royal Holloway.
Rare Disease Day is a global day designed to raise awareness of rare genetic conditions that affect less than 1 in 2000 people. Royal Holloway's Rare Disease Day event includes short presentations from a range of experts, loads of hands-on activities, tours of our genetic research labs and a chance to meet our current undergraduate students who are carrying out research projects.
Our exhibition features a range of patient charities representing rare genetic disorders, and education organisations including the Society of Biology, Jeans for Genes and the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industy
Places are free and can be booked online
