Create relations between items for ROS

In Pure, you can create relations between different types of content (such as publications, activities, projects, or funding) to show that, for example, a project is related to a publication or an activity. Creating relations between projects and publications or activities is becoming increasingly important as funding bodies, such as RCUK's Research Outcomes System, require more detailed information about outcomes of grants they have awarded. By creating relations between items in Pure, you will ensure that it is possible for Pure to provide this type of information. It will also mean that you do not have to enter the same type of data more than once in different external systems.

Providing outcomes information and the relations between these and their projects is now required for AHRC, BBSRC, EPSRC, NERC and ESRC grant holders.

Creating relations in Pure is quick and easy. Log on to Pure and click on Projects on the left side of the screen. A list of your projects and awarded research grants will be displayed. Click on the title of a project to open a new window. Scroll down to the section Relations where different types of content you can link to will be displayed.

Choose the type of item you want to create a relation to by clicking on the relevant icon. For example, if you click on the research outputs icon, all your publications that have been entered in Pure will be displayed.

Find the publication you want to link to and click on the title – the link to the publication will be created. If you want to remove the relation, click on the minus sign (–) opposite the title of the added item.

You can create relations with as many items as necessary. Please click Save when you have finished.

You may need to add more outcomes information to comply with the ROS requirements. See matching ROS and Pure outcomes categories.
